You can view the raster images in your browser without any plug-in, but their resolution is limited by the file sizes this method requires. Vector files need usually less space for the same image detail, but those posted here are in many cases even larger than the raster versions because they correspond to much larger pictures and incorporate much more detail. However, they have the advantage that they remain sharp at any magnification, and that you can zoom in on them to see fine points unavailable in the raster pictures.
